NC House Candidate Aimy Steele Welcomes the Support of Senator Jeff Jackson

CONCORD, N.C. – The Campaign to elect Aimy Steele to the North Carolina House District 82, is pleased to announce that Senator Jeff Jackson will be our Special Guest at a reception supporting Steele in Concord.

“I have long been a fan of Senator Jackson. From his service in Operation Enduring Freedom and today as a Captain in the JAG Corps with the Army National Guard, I’m reminded of my father’s service in the Army and the commitment military families make to keep our country safe,” said Steele. “Additionally, Senator Jackson’s work to increase state funding for public schools, provide access to health and screening services, and help teachers survive economically, are initiatives that are near and dear to my heart,” said Steele.

Senator Jeff Jackson is the youngest Democratic State Senator in North Carolina, and serves Mecklenburg County, District 37. He is happy to help shine a spotlight on Steele, who is challenging a nine-term incumbent, to represent Cabarrus County in the North Carolina House.

“It’s time to break the supermajority in our state. Aimy’s race has been identified as a key race to help restore the political balance in the North Carolina General Assembly. Furthermore, Aimy’s background in education and school administration, her commitment to providing access to quality early-childhood education, and her dedication to increasing teacher pay which ultimately helps all families, are issues for which I also stand,” said Sen. Jackson.

We believe the support of Sen. Jackson will fuel even more momentum for the Steele campaign and the efforts to elect Aimy Steele.

“I look forward to support Sen. Jackson from the state House, should I be elected. Together we can make our communities Strong Like Steele,” said Steele.

The reception is scheduled for Sunday, July 29th, from 3:00-5:00pm at a private home in Concord. Please contact Communications Director Barbara Lash if you wish to attend in an official media capacity: 704-615-1349.

Aimy Steele holds a Ph.D. in education, and is a career educator and school administrator. She and her husband of 19-years are the parents of five children, all of whom attend Cabarrus County public schools.
